Roofline work needs safe standing time at the eaves, so a scaffold or high-reach access is usual on two-storey and taller homes. Scaffold is specified for: full-roofline replacements and any work above single-storey height - always itemised in your written quote, never a hidden extra, and we arrange it.

Pavement scaffold and skip permits go through Cambridge City Council; allow a few working days on streets like Mill Road, Gwydir Street, the terraces off Petersfield where space is tight.

Living Around the Work

Roofline work is external and quiet; a skip or van for the old timber, and access to the eaves and side passage, is all that is needed. You do not need to stay home for external work - we just need power and access agreed in advance.

Fascias and soffits are fitted year-round in Cambridge; we add eaves ventilation as standard to prevent the loft condensation common in older stock. Cambridge's low, exposed Fen-edge position drives wind hard against gable ends, and riverside humidity near the Cam slows autumn drying.
